Agathocles is one of those bands you love or hate. There’s no feeling in between. I always liked the lyrics of this track. Music wise one can discuss the greatness, but the simplicity of the text is just marvelous. Simple, straight forward and so true!
A few months ago a number of unhappy farmers blocked Belgian roads, motivated by the low income they generate for their milk. The bigger corporations kept the price for milk very cheap. Because of this, the farmers (the source of the milk) lost and loose a lot of their income.
What was the result of their action? A lot of people complaining because of the roadblocks, aggressive farmers, traffic jams, accidents, … Their message was not delivered. At all!
What is it all about? Well, the point is that I will write down some of my personal thoughts. My ideas and questions. My findings and whatever pops up in my mind.
Well, the last few days and weeks Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys have been playing almost non-stop on my iPod. Both bands combine a splendid feel for rhythm and have this genuine feeling. When listening to them tracks, you get the idea of actually sitting in a cosy bar enjoying the music.

Waarschijnlijk ligt het aan mij, maar dit is toch wel een grappig woord?!? Laat staan dat ze net dáárvoor een woord bestaat!
